Spring Wedding at Stoodleigh Church - Devon
Nestled in the Devon countryside, Stoodleigh Church made the perfect setting for such a warm and personal ceremony. The church has so much character and light, which always photographs beautifully, but what really made the ceremony memorable was the emotion between these two.
There were tears, huge smiles, nervous laughter, and the kind of little glances that say everything without words. The couple kept the whole day feeling completely natural and unforced, which meant every moment felt genuine from start to finish.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside the church doors for one of the most energetic confetti throws ever.
These are always some of my favourite moments to photograph because nobody’s worrying about posing — everyone’s just caught up in the excitement. The laughter, hugs, and flying confetti made for such a fun atmosphere and perfectly reflected the tone of the day.
We also took a few relaxed portraits around the church while guests made their way to the reception. Nothing too formal or overly staged — just a chance for the couple to take a breather together and enjoy a few quiet moments before the party really started.
Calverleigh Village Hall was the perfect reception venue for this kind of laid-back Devon wedding. It had such a welcoming atmosphere and gave everyone space to properly relax and enjoy themselves.
The whole reception felt effortless in the best possible way — great food, loads of laughter, kids running around, drinks flowing, and a packed dance floor later in the evening.
