Devon Wedding Photography at Ash Barton Estate

There’s something really special about photographing a Wedding at a venue for the very first time — especially somewhere as characterful and relaxed as Ash Barton Estate. Tucked away in the North Devon countryside, the estate has this perfect mix of rustic charm, open space, and laid-back atmosphere that makes everyone instantly feel at ease.

This March Wedding was full of warmth from start to finish. Despite the early spring chill in the air, the whole day felt incredibly cosy thanks to one genuinely lovely couple and a group of guests who were clearly so excited to celebrate with them.

The morning began with a calm atmosphere around the estate as everyone got ready in different corners of the venue. One of the things I immediately loved about Ash Barton was how much freedom there is to move around and make the space your own. Every room had its own personality, with beautiful textures, old stone walls, and soft natural light that photographers dream about.

The ceremony itself was emotional in all the best ways — plenty of laughter, a few happy tears, and the kind of moments that happen naturally when two people are completely comfortable around each other. March Weddings can sometimes be unpredictable weather-wise, it actually snowed the day before! The Wedding day itself was absolutely beautiful!

One thing that really stood out to me about Ash Barton was how naturally it encourages people to settle in and enjoy themselves. It doesn’t feel overly formal or staged. Instead, it has that rare quality where Weddings feel personal and completely unique to the couple celebrating there.

As a Devon Wedding photographer, visiting a new venue is always exciting, but this one definitely left an impression. Ash Barton Estate is full of character, incredibly photogenic, and perfect for couples wanting a relaxed countryside Wedding with plenty of space to celebrate properly with family and friends.

To the newlyweds — thank you so much for having me along to capture your day. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph such a kind, fun-loving group of people, and I’m so glad my first visit to Ash Barton was for a Wedding like this one.
